Pike's Peak

My dad and I rode the Cog Railway up Pike's Peak. Took about an hour and a half or so each way. Judy the conductor entertained us along the way and pointed out the sights.

I wish it didn't cost so much to make ViewMaster slides, since what looks absolutely breathtaking when you are there often looks pretty boring in a two-dimensional photo. You really need a 3-D medium to do it justice.

I had little clue what it was at the time, other than being the work of some secret society; but thanks to my friend Jeff Lomicka, who identified it for me when I returned.

			Panorama from top of Pike's Peak. You can see the Hand of God inscribing the vista on the left, and the Cog Railway at the bottom.				Somewhere in this photo there is a yellow-bellied, lily-livered whispering marmot. Or something like that. See if you can find him.
			On the way down, we see some Colorado gravel.				Vistas on the way down.
