Royal Gorge Route

This is our trip aboard the Royal Gorge Route railway, a fantastic way to see the Royal Gorge Canyon. The train goes about 12 mph through the whole canyon. The Arkansas river flows through the bottom of the canyon. This is a companion trip to the Royal Gorge Bridge roll of photos: here you see the bottom, there you see the top.

I took a very large number of photos. This was the toughest roll to cull down. See the Remnants page for photos which are still beautiful but unfortunately didn't make the cut.

This is where I really wish I could make 3-D images. It is just impossible to appreciate the awe-inspiring splendor of the Canyon looking at two-dimensional photos.
